There are so many things to do and see around Granbury, we just couldn't cover them all here!  But, whether you enjoy the great outdoors or indoor activities, here are just a few of the things you'll find in the Granbury area.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

The myriad of things to do around Granbury, TX could start with the fabulous ambiance of the downtown square. Strolling around the square also gives you the invitation of the nearby Shanley Park which features picnic areas and naturistic trails for walking or casual bike riding. Granbury, TX also features walkways and parks in and near multiple areas of interest.
 
 
You will also find the opportunity for water activities on Lake Granbury. This lake was created in 1969 when the Brazos River was dammed up. Sport fishing includes an abundance of bass, catfish, crappie, and sunfish. In addition to fishing there is waterskiing and pleasure boating. 
 
Jet skis and boat rentals as well as recreational vehicle parking is available at the Marina. Pontoon boat tours are also offered on Lake Granbury. Around the 103 miles of shoreline lake are several recreational areas for picnics and hiking
 
The Granbury City Beach offers a white sandy beach with Tiki huts, a large pavilion, and water fun for children or grandchildren.  The beach is located by the Granbury Conference Center and Boardwalk. Here you will also find picnic areas and fabulous walking trails that are winding in and around the lake and connect near the downtown square and Shanley Park.
 
One special feature in Granbury is the Brazos Drive-In Theatre that operates two nights per week. It's an authentic 1950s drive-in movie theatre where you can watch 2 movies on either Friday or Saturday night at a rate of $18 per car.
 
The renown Granbury State Historical Cemetery offers a nostalgic experience when you tour the site where Jesse James, General Hiram Granbury, Ashley Crockett (Davy's grandson), as well as other notables are reportedly buried.
 
Granbury TX real estate offers homes in areas where you'll have plenty of opportunity to enjoy golf, waterfront living and naturistic views.
 
INDOOR ACTIVITIES
 
The Granbury Opera House which was built in 1886, is famous for its live performances of melodramas, plays, musicals and Broadway productions.
 
Granbury Live features Nostalgia Concerts with live entertainment from the 50s, 60s, 70s, on the historic square in Granbury, TX.
 
The Bisque House is a place where individuals, families and other groups can come and create their own clay art, experience making pottery, try the art of glassfusing, and assembling beautiful mosaics.
 
The Hood County Jail and Museum has some historic exhibits, memorabilia and artifacts that explore the history of Granbury and Hood County. This jail was built in 1885 and is complete with the original cell block and hanging tower
 
Shopping in the Granbury area is abundant in specialty and antique shops such as Brazos Moon Antiques, and Brazos River Trading Co.  There are well-known department stores such as Bealls. Or, if you prefer a more traditional shopping experience, you'll find a shopping haven in Fort Worth, TX, just about a half hour’s drive away.
 
Special Note: You will also find several community groups to join for activities in and around Granbury, TX..............never a dull moment in this fabulous "vacation feel" town.
